Good Conduct Policy
Lotus Women's Clinic Â
Lotus Women's Clinic is a place of healing. To keep it safe, calm and welcoming for every woman and family who visits, we expect everyone on our premises to behave with courtesy and respect.
Purpose
This policy sets out the standard of behaviour expected at the clinic, so that patients, their families and our staff feel safe and respected.
Who this applies to
This policy applies to everyone at the clinic: patients, attenders, visitors, visiting consultants and all members of staff.
Our guiding principles
-
Respect for everyone: every person will be treated with dignity, whatever their background. Harassment, intimidation, threats or discriminatory behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated.
-
Privacy: patient information is confidential, and a patient's care is discussed only with the people who need to be involved.
-
Clear and kind communication: we explain things simply and patiently, and we welcome questions. We ask that disagreements are expressed calmly and respectfully.
What we expect from patients and attenders
-
Follow the clinic's rules and instructions from staff.
-
Treat doctors, staff and other patients with courtesy.
-
Refrain from any verbal, physical or emotional abuse, including shouting, threats or offensive language.
-
Keep noise to a minimum and use mobile phones considerately in waiting and consultation areas.
-
Do not photograph or record staff or other patients without their permission.
-
Smoking, alcohol and tobacco use are not permitted on the premises.
-
Patients are responsible for the behaviour of the family members and attenders accompanying them.
What patients can expect from our staff
-
Professional, caring and empathetic behaviour at all times.
-
Explanations of care in simple language, with time to answer questions.
-
Fair and equal treatment based only on medical need.
-
Strict respect for patient privacy and confidentiality.
If this policy is not followed
-
Patients and attenders: depending on the seriousness of the behaviour, we may give a verbal or written warning, ask the person to leave the premises, or arrange for care to continue elsewhere. Emergency care will never be withheld. In serious cases, such as violence or threats to staff, the police will be informed, and action may be taken under the Tamil Nadu Medicare Service Persons and Medicare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage or Loss to Property) Act, 2008.
-
Staff: any breach will be dealt with under the clinic's service rules, which may include disciplinary action up to termination of service.
Reporting a concern
Anyone who experiences or witnesses behaviour that breaks this policy is encouraged to report it to the clinic administration straight away, by calling +91 99947 15074 or emailing thelotuswomensclinic@gmail.com. Every report will be looked into confidentially and acted on fairly.
