Digital health records and ABDM
Lotus Women's Clinic uses a Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) that is compliant with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) of the National Health Authority, Government of India. This means:
-
ABHA is optional: you may create or share your ABHA number or address at registration, including by scanning our ABDM "Scan and Share" QR code. Your care will never be denied if you do not have, or do not wish to share, an ABHA.
-
Your records, in your hands: if you share your ABHA, your prescriptions, lab reports, scan reports and other health records created at Lotus may be linked to it, so you can view and download them in the ABHA app or any ABDM-approved health records app.
-
Sharing only with your consent: your health records are shared with another hospital, doctor or laboratory through ABDM only after you approve a consent request. You decide which records are shared, with whom and for how long.
-
You can revoke consent: you may withdraw a consent at any time through your ABHA app, after which no further records will be shared under it.
Secure exchange: records shared through ABDM are encrypted, and we follow the ABDM Health Data Management Policy along with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Your consent
We collect and use your personal data with your consent, which you give when you book an appointment, register at the clinic or share information through our website. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. Withdrawing consent will not affect care already provided, but it may limit our ability to offer certain services in future. Some information may still need to be kept where the law requires it, such as medical records.
Sharing your information
We never sell or rent your personal information. We share it only when necessary, and only with:
-
Doctors, visiting consultants and staff involved in your care
-
Diagnostic laboratories or imaging centres, when tests are needed
-
Hospitals or specialists, when you are referred for further care

How long we keep your information
We keep your personal information only for as long as it is needed for your care and the purposes described above, or for as long as the law requires medical records to be kept. After that, it is securely deleted or destroyed.
